St. David CSS Learning Commons: Books & Book Reviews

To Search For Books:

• Access the St. David Library PAC (Public Access Catalogue) to search for Fiction, Graphic Novels, Nonfiction, Audiobooks and more
• Enter the title or your search term
• Use the drop down menus to narrow your search by clicking on 
  • Format --> Book
  • Collection -->Fiction or Nonfiction or Graphic novel etc.
  • Look for books that are Available (Checked In)
  •  If a book is not available, speak to the librarian to place a hold, interbranch loan or to be considered for adding to our library collection 

To Search For Research Books:

• Enter your search term for example Pollution
• Use the drop down menus to narrow your search by clicking on 
  • Format --> Book
  • Collection -->Nonfiction
  • Subject --> select from the list to narrow subject to your topic 
  • Look for books that are Available (Checked In)
  • Record the call number(s), for example Shelf Location 628.1 KAL 
    • nonfiction stacks (tall nonfiction shelves)
    • look on the ends of the stacks for number ranges
