WHAT WE DO


The Learning Commons, CEC (formerly the Resource Centre) is essential to the success of the Waterloo Catholic District Schools Board's 21st Century Teaching and Learning Blueprint by providing:

  • The Virtual Learning Commons, the WCDSB's online portal for research databases, digital media, and other 21st Century Learning support materials
  • Technology loans such as Grade 6-8 Technology red bins, maker kits, green screens, and more
  • Technology assistance for Learning Commons digital resources (eBooks, databases, digital video etc.)
  • Staff resources supporting 21st Century Learning activities 
  • Professional development for Learning Commons staff
  • Cataloguing for all WCDSB school Learning Commons' collections, Central departments, and Chromebooks

ACCESSING PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES

Visit the WCDSB catalogue to search the professional resources collection, or ask your school's Learning Commons staff for assistance. WCDSB staff may also visit the collection in person on the first floor of the Catholic Education Centre
