WHAT WE DO


The Learning Commons, CEC (formerly the Resource Centre) is essential in supporting the success of the Waterloo Catholic District Schools Board's by providing:

  • The Virtual Learning Commons, the WCDSB's online portal for research databases, digital media, and other innovative teaching and learning support materials
  • Technology loans such as Grade 6-8 STEM Kits, maker kits, green screens, and more
  • Technology assistance for Learning Commons digital resources (eBooks, databases, digital video etc.)
  • Staff resources supporting innovative teaching and learning activities 
  • Professional development for Learning Commons staff
  • Cataloguing for all WCDSB school Learning Commons' collections, Central departments, and Chromebooks

ACCESSING PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES

Visit the WCDSB catalogue to search the professional resources collection, or ask your school's Learning Commons staff for assistance. WCDSB staff may also visit the collection in person at the Catholic Education Centre.
